Sad news came yesterday: one of the prominent polish artists; Franciszek Starowieyski has passed aged 79.
His posters were known worldwide, his "Theatre of Drawing" was known at least on the Old Continent probably.
Mr. Starowieyski was very colourful figure, art and antiquities collector, artist and teacher, controversial performer, and great craftsman.
And very strong personality.
Born in old noble family of long tradition, he insisted that he was "misplaced in time" (which was a feeling we all here had some 20+ years ago) and always dated his works 300 years earlier...
